At the Stade de France in Paris the London football team Arsenal plays the Spanish team Barcelona in the final of the Champions League (a knockout competition between top European clubs). The match will be shown live on ITV1. The kickoff is at 7:45pm (UK time). Fri 19 May - Sun 28 May London African Music Festival
There are musical performances from a wide range of African countries (Algeria, Mali, Senegal, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Congo, Angola, South Africa, Madagascar, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia) at the South Bank Centre in London.

Sat 20 May Eurovision Song Contest
An annual European song competition. The contest is shown on BBC1 in the evening, and you can hear it on BBC Radio 2.
In 2006 the UK entry is “Teenage Life”, written and performed by Daz Sampson (biography: http://www.dazsampson.co.uk).

Sat 20 May The Prince’s Trust 30th Birthday Concert
A special concert from 7pm-10pm in the Tower of London to mark the 30th birthday of The Prince’s Trust. Acts will include the Bee Gees (Barry and Robin Gibb), Pink, Annie Lennox, Sugababes, Embrace, Lionel Richie and Ronan Keating.

The Prince’s Trust is a UK charity which helps to support young people (aged 14-30). It was established by Prince Charles in 1976. For more information see: http://www.princes-trust.org.uk
Tue 23 May - Sat 27 May Chelsea Flower Show
A famous flower show in London. There are TV programmes about the show on BBC television each day this week. If you want to go to the show you have to buy tickets in advance; for details, see: http://www.rhs.org.uk/chelsea. Entry on Monday is only by special invitation, and Tuesday/Wednesady are only for RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) members. The entrance is on Eastern Avenue, which is close to the northern end of Royal Hospital Road (near Sloane Square underground station, not far from London Victoria station; see map). Exhibited plants are sold on the last day.
