My client are a highly successful events company based in London and are now looking to recruit an Account Development Manager.They are looking for a dynamic individual who can grow into an already large account further and build rapport at all levels.
This is a very varied position in which you will be responsible for analysing and developing, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, account negotiation strategies, liaising with corporate Account Managers, liaising with clients on tenders and audits and ensuring levels of service provided are optimum.
You must come from an agency or hotel background!!!!
Other duties will include;
- Generating new sales leads from either new or existing clients
- Presenting to new and established clients for this account
- Developing a database of new contacts
- Creating company structure charges for both accounts in order to target all areas
- Attending and organising client evenings with prospects
- Providing effective weekly planners, sales activity reports and marketing plans
The ideal candidate must have previous venue finding and event management experience coupled with the ability to act upon commercial opportunities. A ‘good all-rounder’ with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

UK-SW-Bristol-Events Officer
Introduction
Our client, an independent body responsible for ensuring that public money is spent economically, efficiently and effectively, to achieve high quality local services for the public are looking for a Part time Events Officer to work 21 hours over 3 days. This is a fixed term contract until the 31st of December 2006. Their work covers local government, health, housing, community safety and fire and rescue services.
This job-share role sits in the Marketing Communications Department within the Communications and Public Reporting Directorate and reports to the Events Manager. Working closely in a job-share arrangement with one other Events Officer and members of the Events Team, the successful candidate will also have a broad relationship with colleagues in the Communications and Public Reporting Directorate and the organisation as a whole.
Overview
The key element of the job is to organise and manage organisational events - such as conferences, regional workshops, receptions and roundtable discussions - and third party activities at which the Commission is participating (such as speaker and exhibition presence).
The post holder will be required to work with suppliers, campaign managers and internal colleagues to help ensure events are run professionally and achieve set objectives. It is expected that all events are delivered on time and to budget and event-related risks are highlighted in advance where possible. Excellent client relationship and project management skills are essential. This post requires a good team player with a varied range of event management experience.
As this is a part-time, job-share role, excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise activities is essential. Regular, accurate communication will be required to keep the Events Team and relevant campaign managers updated of event progress.
Since events take place all over the country, frequent overnight stays away from Bristol and some long distance driving are required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all events adhere to event processes and procedures to guarantee there smooth running;
- Undertake the necessary administrative duties required to deliver a successful event – including maintaining meticulous files, compiling and distributing delegate and speaker event information, and dealing with event enquiries and bookings;
- Organise accommodation for Audit Commission staff attending events;
- Demonstrate a knowledgeable and professional image on-site at Commission events and exhibition activities;
- Contribute to communications strategy meetings to identify potential events and recommend the most appropriate format;
- Identify where events can support the campaigns and communications strategy;
- Ensure all events are evaluated and feedback passed to the Events Manager;
- Identify where efficiencies can be gained through supplier relationships;
- Manage external suppliers and speakers where required, and support staff on-site;
- Ensure venues, suppliers and branding reflect the Commissions values and protects reputation.
Person specification
Essential
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in event management from across a range of event formats, sizes and budgets
- Good communicator and confident at conversing with speakers and other senior/key figures
- Experience in setting, monitoring and maintaining effective budgets
- Experience of negotiating contracts for venues and other suppliers
- Excellent writing skills and experience of producing marketing literature for direct mailings
- A professional approach – especially in regard to representing the Events Team at campaign meetings, and the Commission at externally focussed events
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong team player
- Good attention to detail
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrates multi-tasking and prioritisation skills and has an ability to work effectively under pressure
- Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation in getting the job done
- Collaborates with colleagues and other teams to get results
- Clean driving licence and confident at distance driving
