Mid September - Great Autumn Flower Show - Harrogate, North Yorkshire
21 - International Day of Peace - The General Assembly of the United Nations declared that the Day be observed as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day.
22 World Car Free Day - Every year on this day, town centre streets close to cars and lorries, and open up for people to enjoy walking, cycling, street theatre, live music, dancing, public art and children’s play areas.
24 - World Heart Day - This Day runs in over 90 countries, including the UK - the theme this year is Children, Adolescents and Heart Disease with the core messages being obesity and smoking.
26 - European Day of Languages - The European Day of Languages is a celebration of language learning and linguistic diversity promoted by the Council of Europe. CILT, the National Centre for Languages co-ordinates the European Day of Languages in the UK. 1 - 31 The Big Draw - The Big Draw, part of the Campaign for Drawing, happens in October in many different places all over the UK. Throughout October there are drawing events and activities in museums and galleries, in libraries and shopping centres, in castles and country houses, on nature reserves and in schools.

6 - Jeans for Genes Everyone across the UK is being urged to ’denimstrate’ they care this Jeans for Genes Day and help raise funds for sick children.
6 – 13 Seafood Week (TBC) Seafood - Week is one of the biggest, exciting and most inclusive national events of the year with thousands of seafood businesses and organisations working together to celebrate seafood and the many benefits it offers. Feeling Good With Seafood is the main theme for this year’s event.
