The British Academy of Management (BAM) was founded in 1986 to represent the community of management academics. The organisation has a current membership of approximately 1400 individuals, 15% of which are internationally based, and BAM provides a variety of training and development workshops and programmes for academics at various stages of their career. A three day annual conference is also held in September at various locations within the UK.
The Academy owns two dynamic journals, British Journal of Management and International Journal of Management Reviews and also publishes a monthly e-newsletter and annual review keeping members updated on current events. Revenue is generated primarily from the 2 journals, the annual conference, Research Council grants and other training and development activities.
BAM also has a significant role in representing the community to government and research councils and has established links with a number of related organisations both in the UK and internationally.
Duties will include- Event Management
Liaison with workshop facilitators on locations and venues
Liaison with venues and booking necessary accommodation
Production of publicity materials and distribution
Management of delegate registrations
Reproduction of workshop materials into packs for delegates
Responding to general enquiries
Production of income and expenditure accounts for each event
Attending Researcher Development Initiative meetings, as necessary
Point of contact and support for the DoRN Steering Group: administrative support for its meetings and activities (preparation of papers, minute writing, action follow-up)
Supporting the Facilitator of the DoR Development Programme: (an annual programme comprising 6 sessions) including marketing and promotion, organising accommodation and lunches, preparation of materials, speaker liaison, hosting delegates and updating the website with fresh content and contributing to the BAM enewsletter;
Managing DoRN membership: updating contact lists, correspondence
Disseminating news to DoRN Members: email, web pages, newsletter
Management of annual Steering Group elections
Liaising with the BAM Executive Committee and Council
Point of contact for the SIG Convenors/Chairs: providing advice and guidance on SIG procedures
Administrative support for the SIG Co-ordination Group
Managing information on new SIG members

A strong team player who demonstrates confidence and credibility, excellent communications skills and works hard to deliver results.
Based in Osterley, West London. Travel to other sites throughout the UK may be required.
