Giant Green & Blacks chocolate bar to be built in Trafalgar Square

Green & Blacks will unveil a giant edible ticket in Trafalgar Square tomorrow (10 September) to celebrate its sponsorship of the London Restaurant Festival (4-18 October).
Made up of 1,500 chocolate bars, the two by five-metre structure will contains the first Golden Gastronomy ticket. Throughout the festival, Green & Blacks will be hiding five such tickets in complimentary after-dinner chocolate bars.

Those lucky enough to find one will win free dining for two in the capital every month for a year, and be entered into a prize draw to win the ‘Ultimate Foodie Weekend’. The latter starts at The Blueprint Cafe in London and finishes at the award-winning Three Chimney’s Restaurant on the Isle of Skye.
“This is a real coup for the London Restaurant Festival and is really exciting. Find one of the tickets and you will be eating out at London’s best restaurants for free for a year,” said festival director Simon Davis.

This week’s Event Venue of the Week is…

Event’s latest Venue of the Week is Browns Courtrooms.
The venue, situated in the heart of London’s West End, ticked many of the boxes that make an ideal candidate for Venue of the Week.
The stone staircase at the entrance and original features of judges’ benches, dating back more than 100 years, certainly add a wow factor to the venue.
In the past week the venue launched a tasting menu and held a showcase evening with over 50 corporate and media guests.
The venue, despite its age, has also undergone something of a change in the past week with a refurbishment to make its interior more up to date.
All in all, a worthy Venue of the Week.

Gok Wan to appear at Clothes Show Live

Style guru Gok Wan is to join a host of celebrities and fashion experts at the 22nd Clothes Show Live at NEC Birmingham from 3-8 December.
The makeover wizard will be presenting in the Fashion Theatre, as well as introducing the famous 45-minute Catwalk Showcase, which this year will feature 40 male and female models.
Fans of the flamboyant stylist will be able to pick up signed copies of his new book throughout the three-day event.

“I have always watched it [The Clothes Show] on TV, and it’s an honour to be part of such an exciting event and fashion institution,” said Wan.
The face of this year’s show will be Storm model India Wadsworth, who is currently appearing in the new Head and Shoulders campaign.

Royal Shakespeare Company’s £112.8m redevelopment to open in November

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that’s its £112.8m development of the Royal Shakespeare and Swan Theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon will open in November 2010.
The refurbished venues will feature a 1,000 seat auditorium with new exhibition spaces and catering options including the Rooftop Restaurant and Riverside Café and terrace with views of the River Avon, Stratford and the Warwickshire countryside.

Before the official opening of the theatres in April 2011, the Royal Shakespeare Company will stage a series of events over the next few months starting with poetry evenings and a Matilda event with illustrator Quentin Blake drawing favourite Roald Dahl characters in December.

The first productions to be staged in February will be King Lear and Romeo and Juliet.

The PR Manager will be responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of communications campaigns across the channels and websites in the UK.
